When and where are the exams?
The exams are not included in the price of this course, and are run by the RHS directly.
The exams are normally held twice a year in February and June. An exam fee is payable to the Royal Horticultural Society.
You can either sit in-person exams at a recognised RHS exam centre or Learning with Experts students can apply to take exams online.

Online RHS exams
Learning with Experts and other RHS Level 2 distance learning students can now apply to take their RHS Level 2 exam online. Here's our guide to online RHS exams.
If you have any further questions about sitting exams, or gaining the final qualification, please contact the RHS directly by email at email@example.com, by phoning +44 1483 226500 or by post to RHS Qualifications, RHS Garden Wisley, Woking, Surrey, GU23 6QB.
What happens if I can't take the exams or need to delay taking exams?
Special considerations and reasonable adjustments can be implemented at the time of an exam to ensure fair assessment and support a candidate who has been disadvantaged by temporary illness, injury or adverse circumstances which arose at, or near, the time of exam/assessment.
They must be applied for by the approved centre, where the exams/assessments are taken.
How much do exams cost?
To sit an exam you will need to be registered with the RHS which currently costs (2022) £20, this is included in your course price if you bought after July 2022.
The exams currently (2022) cost £150 when you sit the exam in person at a centre.
Online exams will have a slightly higher fee (we're awaiting RHS confirmation on costs).
